Acne Scars, Post Acne Sopts, Sun Dammage, Stretch Marks, Uneven Skin – What do they have in common and how dermaroller works?
Acne Scars, Post Acne Spots, Sun Dammage, Stretch Marks and Uneven Skin is basically dammage to the dermis layer of the skin which has not completely healed. For the sake of convenience, we will address the above ailments as scars in general.
To better understand scar removal and how dermaroller works, it is important to understand what scars are and how they are formed. Scars form as a direct result of injury to our skin, and in particular the vital Dermis layer . This is the middle layer of skin between the epidermis (the layer we see) and the subcutaneous (the layer we hope not to see). When damage to the skin occurs, your body produces new collagen fibres and skin tissue so that it quickly mends itself.
When the wound has finished healing, a scar is often formed. Your skin has healed to the degree that your body is sealed to the environment, but not at a cosmetic level – which is why scar reduction procedures and treatments are needed in addition to the natural healing process.
How Dermaroller works?
If your body would produce more collagen then you wouldn’t get scars. Using a Derma Roller gives nature a helping hand by encouraging collagen production in the skin, which helps heal the injury at the cosmetic level.
Dermaroller Therapy Procedure
Your practitioner will use a Genuine (Original) Dermaroller™ medical device to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often in the same day. Your practitioner will use a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 – 30 minutes for the Genuine (Original) Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure.
After a Genuine (Original) Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
Your practitioner will normally recommend that your Genuine (Original) Dermaroller™ Therapy consists of a series of three Genuine (Original) Dermaroller™ procedures with approximately 6 weeks between them.
In the treatment of acne scars (both post acne spots and after acne marks) and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your Genuine (Original) Dermaroller™ Therapy, carrying out up to five procedures.
